We have all been there before.

That feeling of having all the air sucked out of you that instant you feel your heart break.

The pit in your stomach tightens and grows, the blood rushes from your face, your breathing becomes so shallow that you can't even feel it pass your lips....the shock of it all.

I have been dealing with a progressively worsening skin issue for almost 4 years now, which was thought to be treatment resistant guttate psoriasis. That, paired with an osteoarthritis diagnosis at the same time the skin issues started, has made for a non-stop, financially draining rollercoaster of dermatologists, rheumatologists, corticosteroids, creams, pain pills, salt baths, phototherapy, traditional chinese medicine, ayurvedic specialists, acupuncture, osteopathy and any other healing modality I could find to help put the breaks on what was happening to my body.

14 years.

14 years of missed birthdays, life events, accomplishments, anniversaries.

14 years of feeling that a piece of me is missing.

14 years doesn't make me miss him any less.
