your first infrared therapy treatment

 sweating

  • If you don’t sweat easily, do not exceed 15 minutes on your first session

  • Don’t exceed 15 minutes on subsequent sessions until you start breaking a sweat

  • Once you break a sweat, wipe it off with the hand towel provided. Continue to wipe away sweat as it accumulates

  • Always showers as soon as possible afterwards so toxins aren’t reabsorbed into the skin (shower services will be reintroduced once Covid protocols have ended)

Keep it clean

  • Always sit on the towel provided. Sweat is toxic and will stain the wood

  • Arrange the towel over the backrest and seat if you are planning on leaning back.

  • Skin should never come into contact with the wood directly

  • After the session ends, place all towels and face cloths in the basket provided.

Using the window

  • Our sauna has a sliding window which allows you to let in cool air. Breathing cool air will keep your core body temperature normal while you continue to sweat. It gives you the stamina to stay in for longer periods.

  • Open and close the window to your own comfort level during every session.

  • Open the window 1 cm to allow a continuous inward breeze of room temperature air.

  • Open the window more every five minutes if you want an occasional breath of cooler air.

water

  • Bring one large glass of water inside the sauna to drink during your sweat. Add the electrolyte package to the water before entering the sauna. If you have your own water bottle, be sure that it is metal or glass. Never drink out of plastic in a hot environment.

  • Place your glass or bottle on the floor flush with the bottom corner of the bench on either side. This is a cool zone, away from direct infrared rays.

  • 1000 mg of Vitamin C is recommended post sauna, as it plays a huge part in detoxification.

  • Never drink alcohol or use recreational drugs prior to using your Sauna.

warning

Reduce the Risk of Overheating

  • Exit immediately if you become uncomfortable, dizzy or sleepy inside your sauna. Staying too long in a heated area is capable of causing overheating. Open your sauna window regularly to allow fresh cooler air inside, leaning forward if needed.

  • Do not use a sauna if you are pregnant. Overheating the core body temperature at any time during the first trimester of pregnancy can severely harm an unborn child.

  • Do not use a sauna if you are breast-feeding an infant. Detoxification during this period can increase the toxic load put on an infant.

  • Check with a doctor if you are in poor health, or under supervised medical care.

  • Do not drink alcohol or take recreational drugs before or during your sauna session. Breathing heated air in conjunction with consumption of alcohol, drugs or medication is capable of causing unconsciousness.

  • Re-hydrate during and after each session using water mixed with the provided electrolyte restoration salts. Profuse sweating may cause dizziness due to mineral loss. Re-hydration is critical for short term and long term mineral balance.

  • Bodily implants should be covered with a double-thick towel to avoid overheating the prosthetic device. Be careful and use your sauna wisely.

  • If you suffer from any of the conditions listed below, please consult with your physician before sauna use.

    • Alcohol and Drug Abuse/ Dependency

    • Major Cardiovascular Issues

    • Diseases Associated with Impaired Ability to Sweat

    • Fever

    • Heat Insensitivity

    • Hemophilia

    • Pregnancy
