This group was created in response to the very real financial barriers many people face in accessing somatic therapy and nervous system care. Somatic modalities are often not fully covered by insurance, or only reimbursed in limited ways, leaving many trauma survivors paying out-of-pocket or going without support. Group-based sessions allow the cost of time, skill, and space to be shared, making it easier for participants to receive high-quality care that might otherwise be inaccessible.
Group work is not simply a “lower-cost alternative”; it is its own powerful modality for healing trauma. Research has shown that group psychotherapy can significantly reduce symptoms of posttraumatic stress, and in some studies, group treatment is found to be as effective as individual therapy for many people, while being more cost-effective and easier to access over time.
